Science 1on1 is a unique scientific program where scientists are given the opportunity to exchange scientific knowledge one on one, rather than one presenter giving a seminar/ presentation to an audience.

In Science 1on1, each participant is paired randomly with another participant from a different group within Science 1on1 in a round robin format. Every calendar month, a new randomised pairing is computed from the pool of participants. Each pair is expected to arrange and conduct a meeting of no less than 60 minutes in the given month, at a venue and time of the pair’s mutual convenience and choice. The meeting should be seen as an opportunity to discuss science; advice should be sought and given regarding recent progress on research projects, technical/experimental details and future directions.

The scheme is open to anyone that is engaged in scientific activities within the School, from students, to research assistants, post-docs and group leaders.

Pairings are randomised and announced by email and on your dashboard page on this website on the first day of each calendar month.
